The estate

Domaine Rapet farms 24 hectares around Pernand-Vergelesses. Vincent and Sylvette work here with their sons Robin and Louis.

The Rapet family at the estate

A family history

A tastevin engraved with the Rapet name and the date 1765 has been passed down through the family. It records the estate's early connection with Pernand-Vergelesses.

After Robert and Roland, Vincent and Sylvette continued the estate's work, now joined by their sons Robin and Louis.

24 hectares, five villages

The vineyards lie in Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune and Beaune. Chardonnay, Aligoté and Pinot Noir make up the estate's white and red wines.

The wines cover regional appellations, Premiers Crus and Grands Crus of Corton. The cellars and tasting room are on the Place de la Mairie, in the heart of Pernand.

In the vineyard and cellar

Work begins in each parcel and continues in the cellar, with the same care to preserve the grapes and limit handling.

Work in the vineyard

Disbudding, training and leaf removal on the side facing the morning sun accompany the growing season. Earthing up, shallow cultivation and ploughing between vines maintain the soil mechanically.

Treatments are adapted to the weather and to organic vineyard management. Care for the grapes guides decisions in each parcel.

Certified organic since the 2023 vintage

Conversion began in 2020. The estate’s entire 24-hectare vineyard has been certified organic since the 2023 vintage.

White wines

Grapes are harvested into small crates and pressed as whole bunches. Chardonnay ferments in barrels after settling, then stays on its lees with stirring. Ageing generally lasts twelve months, with around 30% new barrels.

Aligoté ferments in tanks at low temperature to retain its fruit aromas.

Red wines

All reds are made from Pinot Noir. Grapes are sorted on arrival at the winery. Fermentation lasts around fifteen days, with punch-downs to extract colour and tannins.

Ageing takes place in barrels. The proportion of new oak varies by wine, generally between 20 and 30%. Bellows-assisted racking avoids the use of a pump.
