Cellaring is counted from the vintage and depends on storage conditions.

The parcel

North of Beaune, the Clos du Roi once belonged to the Dukes of Burgundy. The vines were replanted after the 1985 frost on this gentle slope with freely draining soil.

Soil Stony, sandy soil

Winemaking & ageing

Grapes arrive in small crates and are sorted before vatting. Fermentation lasts around fifteen days with punch-downs, followed by barrel ageing with 20% new oak. Bellows-assisted racking limits handling.

Tasting notes

Expressive red fruit and gentle tannins give a palate that is both supple and dense.

At the table

Duck breast, roast lamb shoulder or grilled fish.
