Pernand-Vergelesses

Red wine · Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru
Cellaring is counted from the vintage and depends on storage conditions.
Halfway up the hillside, this parcel lies between two paths and the Vergelesses vineyards of Savigny and Pernand. The gentle slope drains a soil combining limestone and iron-rich earth.
Soil Limestone and iron-rich soil
Grapes arrive in small crates and are sorted before vatting. Fermentation lasts around fifteen days with punch-downs, followed by barrel ageing with 20% new oak. Bellows-assisted racking limits handling.
The texture is supple and the tannins fine. The wine has enough body to develop for at least a decade.
Beef fillet, lamb shoulder, veal or duck.
