Cellaring is counted from the vintage and depends on storage conditions.

The parcel

Halfway up the Corton hill, Les Pougets faces south. Reddish, stony soil rich in marl covers a gentle slope.

Soil Stony brown limestone soil, rich in marl

Winemaking & ageing

Grapes arrive in small crates and are sorted before vatting. Fermentation lasts around fifteen days with punch-downs, followed by barrel ageing with 20% new oak. Bellows-assisted racking limits handling.

Tasting notes

Blueberry, redcurrant, kirsch and violet precede woodland, sweet spice and liquorice. The firm, full-bodied palate needs time to soften.

At the table

Grilled or roast beef, braised game, game in sauce or strong cheeses.
